The Anglo-Italian Society of Bournemouth and district, is an organization created after the second world war to help the integration of the Italian women brought to England by the British soldiers stationed in Italy. Therefore at the beginning the society was more of a meeting place for Italians and with the function of teaching them English. Its role gradually changed and it has become a meeting place for people who have a family, friend or emotional link with Italy. We have therefore become a school of Italian and a place where lovers of the "Bel Paese" can share their passion for the arts, the language and the food of Italy in complete friendship.
Benvenuti nella Societa` Italo-Inglese di Bournemouth
Welcome to the Bournemouth Anglo-Italian Society
The Society, founded in 1945, through educational and social evenings, aims to promote a greater understanding of the Italian language and culture.
This includes the opportunity to learn and improve your Italian through regular
lessons and conversation classes. All abilities are catered for and students are encouraged to decide which class is best suited to their needs. Social evenings (Feste) are arranged to give everyone the chance to share their interest of all things Italian. Anglo-Italian friendship is encouraged and we also welcome all those of Italian origin who find themselves in our towns.
