The festa to celebrate our (delayed) 75th Anniversary at the AECC University college, was a memorable occasion enjoyed by around 70 enthusiastic people. The college bar was transformed into a roudy Italian Piazza, crowded with society's members and their guests, supplied with a lovely finger buffet, wines and soft drinks, and entertained by a wonderful pair of Neapolitan musicians. Their music created a very happy atmosphere, where people enjoyed each other's company, the food, the drinks, meeting up old friends, and even joined in with some of the Italian songs! A big thank you to all the organizers and helpers and a Grazie to Daniela and Francesco for their music and the wonderful range of Italian and Neapolitan songs. A big thank you goes to Giovanna who made a very special cake that impressed us all for its beauty. Gwen Chapman and Elaine Stock, whose legacies allowed us to have such a big party, would have been very pleased with such a party and with the way the Anglo-Italian Society has continued to florish. A measure of the success of the festa was the fact that many people asked when we are going to have another one like this! Let us wait for the next big Anniversary!
